Reverend Mother Irene,

I received your letter a few weeks ago, and I apologize for replying only now. We thank the Lord who gives us strength and assists us.

I read with great interest about your vocation and your experience of the Carmelite eremitic life that you established in Ireland. I was very impressed by your courage, your unfailing fidelity and your unshakable hope. You too have been hit hard by the ideological fury and ruthless hatred of the Modernists who, after years of slow and progressive infiltration, have now occupied all the vital positions in the Church. Like gold in the crucible, Our Lord has wanted to put you to the test, making you pass "through fire and water" (Ps 65), uniting you ever more intimately to Himself.

The Virgin of Carmel has deigned to show Herself in the place where, centuries ago, Saint Elijah proclaimed before the priests of Baal that the God of Israel is the true God: "O Lord God of Abraham, and Isaac, and Israel, shew this day that thou art the God of Israel, and I thy servant, and that according to thy commandment I have done all these things. Hear me, O Lord, hear me: that this people may learn that thou art the Lord God, and that thou hast turned their heart again." (1 Kings 18:36-37). Even today, in this great apostasy that is fouling the Church and the world, we find ourselves invoking like Saint Elijah that the Lord will manifest Himself in all His power to rout our enemies and expose their superstitions. Even today we see false priests "cutting their flesh" (ibid., 28) and wanting to impose this on all humanity under the pretext of a false pandemic. Even today, God's people question His divine Kingship and let themselves be charmed by the prophets of Baal and Asera who recommend the vaccine as a "moral duty". But that Vitis Florigena [Blossom Laden Vine], the Mother of the Incarnate Word, invites us to renew our faith in Her Son, in the certainty that He will not fail to show the nations that He is the Lord God and that He converts the hearts of His people. But for this to happen, for this pile of wood ready for the holocaust to be swallowed up by the devouring flames of Charity, we must make ourselves worthy of divine intervention, and return to worship the Living and True God, after decades of infidelity and prostitution with idols. The water that drips from the wood symbolizes in fact the faults of the men of the Church and of the faithful, which make it humanly impossible to set fire to it, but which before God provide an additional way to manifest His omnipotence, in spite of our weaknesses.

May your life — yours and your sister's, as well as that of those who wish to join you on the path of perfection — be animated by the spirit of reparation and expiation for the sins and infidelities, especially of the Ministers of the Church. May your serene and smiling face be the mirror of your soul, while in penance and the rigor of fasting you tame your flesh and spirit. Offer yourselves as victims, unreservedly and unconditionally, and you will be welcomed and blessed by the pure, holy and immaculate Victim who offers Himself for us every day on our altars. Pray for those who persecute you, even and especially when they should be your protectors and friends. On Carmel, the Lord God of hosts has triumphed, and with Him has triumphed our Lady and Queen, whom we venerate as Flos Carmeli [Flower of Carmel].

I ask Heaven to bestow upon you spiritual and material graces, above all the grace of a Chaplain. This seems to be a very difficult thing to obtain in Ireland, especially in the present context of total crisis, both in the ecclesial and social spheres. For my part, I will do my best to help you as best as I can. It would be better, if you wish, to discuss this verbally over the phone.

Finally, feel free to publish my writings on your site, in the hope that they may contribute to the spread of the Light of Truth in the hearts and minds of so many who fumble in darkness and confusion.

"Ask not for light crosses, but for strong backs" — St. Teresa exhorts us. Let us pray, therefore, that the Lord will deign to make our backs firm and strong, so that we may be able to bear with love the cross He has prepared for us.

Reverenda Madre Irene,

ho ricevuto la Sua lettera qualche settimana fa, e mi scuso se Le rispondo solo ora. Ringraziamo il Signore che ci dà forza e ci assiste.

Ho letto con viva attenzione le vicende della Sua vocazione e dell'esperienza di vita eremitica carmelitana che Ella ha fondato in Irlanda. Sono rimasto molto impressionato dal Suo coraggio, dalla Sua indefettibile fedeltà, dalla Sua incrollabile speranza. Anche Lei è stata duramente colpita della furia ideologica e dell’odio spietato dei Modernisti che, dopo anni di lenta e progressiva infiltrazione, hanno ormai occupato tutti i gangli vitali della Chiesa. Come l’oro nel crogiolo, Nostro Signore ha voluto metterLa alla prova, facendola passare “per il fuoco e per l’acqua” (Sal 65), unendoLa sempre più intimamente a Sé.

La Vergine del Carmelo si è degnata mostrarsi nel luogo in cui, secoli addietro, sant’Elia proclamò dinanzi ai sacerdoti di Baal che il vero Dio è il Signore di Israele: «Signore, Dio di Abramo, di Isacco e di Giacobbe, oggi si sappia che tu sei Dio in Israele e che io sono tuo servo e che ho fatto tutte queste cose per tuo comando. Rispondimi, Signore, rispondimi e questo popolo sappia che tu sei il Signore Dio e che converti il loro cuore!» (1Re 18, 20-40). Anche oggi, in questa grande apostasia che ammorba la Chiesa e il mondo, noi ci troviamo ad invocare come sant’Elia che il Signore si manifesti in tutta la Sua potenza per sbaragliare i nostri nemici e sbugiardare le loro superstizioni. Anche oggi vediamo falsi sacerdoti «che si fanno incisioni» (ibid., 28) e che le vogliono imporre all’umanità intera col pretesto di una falsa pandemia. Anche oggi il popolo di Dio mette in dubbio la Sua divina Signoria e si lascia incantare dai profeti di Baal e di Asera che raccomandano il vaccino come un «dovere morale». Ma la Vitis florigena, Madre del Verbo Incarnato, ci invita a rinnovare la fede nel Suo Figlio, nella certezza che Egli non mancherà di mostrare alle nazioni che Egli è il Signore Dio e che converte il cuore del Suo popolo. Ma perché ciò accada, perché questa catasta di legna pronta per l’olocausto sia inghiottita dalle fiamme divoratrici della Carità, dobbiamo renderci degni dell’intervento divino, e ritornare ad adorare il Dio Vivo e Vero, dopo decenni di infedeltà e di prostituzioni con gli idoli. L’acqua che gronda dalla legna simboleggia infatti le colpe degli uomini di Chiesa e dei fedeli, che rendono umanamente impossibile appiccarvi il fuoco, ma che dinanzi a Dio costituiscono un elemento ulteriore per manifestare la Sua onnipotenza, a dispetto delle nostre debolezze.

Sia la vostra vita - la Sua e quella della Sua consorella, assieme a quella di quante vorranno raggiungervi nella via della perfezione - animata dallo spirito di riparazione e di espiazione per le colpe e le infedeltà, soprattutto dei Ministri della Chiesa. Sia il vostro viso sereno e sorridente specchio della vostra anima, mentre nella penitenza e nel rigore dei digiuni domate la carne e lo spirito. Offritevi come vittime, senza riserve e senza condizioni, e sarete accolte e benedette dalla Vittima pura, santa e immacolata che ogni giorno si offre per noi sui nostri altari. Pregate per i vostri persecutori, anche e soprattutto quando essi dovrebbero essere vostri protettori e amici. Sul Carmelo ha vinto il Signore Iddio degli eserciti, e con Lui ha trionfato la nostra Signora e Regina, che veneriamo come Flos Carmeli.

Invoco con voi dal Cielo grazie spirituali e materiali, in primis la grazia di un Cappellano. Questo sembra un obbiettivo molto difficile da realizzare in Irlanda, specialmente nell’attuale contesto di crisi totale, sia in ambito ecclesiale che in ambito sociale. Da parte mia, mi sto adoperando, nel limite delle mie possibilità, per aiutarvi. Sarebbe opportuno, se lo desidera, parlarne a viva voce in un contatto telefonico.

Infine, si senta libera di pubblicare i miei scritti sul Suo sito, nella speranza che possano contribuire alla diffusione della Luce della Verità nei cuori e nelle menti di tanti che brancolano nel buio e nella confusione.

«Non chiedere croci leggere, ma schiene forti» - ci esorta Santa Teresa. Preghiamo dunque che il Signore si degni di rendere salde e robuste le nostre schiene, per poter portare con amore la croce che Egli ha preparato per noi.

Vi porto spiritualmente con me ai piedi dell’altare, ogni giorno, mentre offro il Santo Sacrificio della Messa. Da parte Sua e della Sua consorella, reverenda Madre, confido che anche voi mi sentiate spiritualmente vicino specialmente quando recitate le Ore Canoniche.

Di tutto cuore, reverenda Madre Irene, imparto a Lei e alla Sua consorella la mia più larga benedizione, in auspicio di ogni dono celeste.
